St. Andrew's Church, Eversley - A Designated Historic Site in King Township

St. Andrew's Church, located in King Township on Dufferin Street north of King Sideroad, is a heritage property owned by the York Pioneer and Historical Society.  This country church was constructed of local fieldstone in 1848 by the Scottish Presbyterian settlers of the hamlet of Eversley. The vernacular architecture of the building reflects both the Classic Revival and Gothic Revival styles.  The simple interior is illuminated by eight Gothic windows with interlacing tracery, set within deep window reveals. The original rows of box pews have been preserved, adding to the historic character of the church.

By the 1950s, the church no longer had an active congregation.  Lady Eaton, whose country estate was in the area, purchased the vacant church in order to preserve it as a historic site.  In the 1970s, the property was gifted to the York Pioneer and Historical Society, who continues to care for the building and carry out an on-going series of restoration projects.

The church is available to rent for weddings and other events. For further information, please contact 905-833-0209 or yorkpioneers@gmail.com
